About Me
Now...A little about myself...
I got involved in Real Estate when I bought my first home in 1995. I had just accepted a promotion and a transfer to Connecticut. Back then I was a full time restaurant manager. My company gave me five days to find a place to live and move my life from Boston to Connecticut. So off I went classified ads in hand.
I went to the first real estate office on the list to check out some apartments. As we were driving around, this agent started telling me about this condo a client of his had just finished renovating. I asked if I could see it. He said that they were not looking to rent it out.
I really wasn't interested in any of the apartments he had shown me, and I noticed a small complex that looked really inviting. It turned out that is where the renovated condo was. So I asked again to see it. I think he thought I was a bit loopy but he called the owner and took me to see it.
It was a place I had always dreamed about so I said I wanted to put in an offer. I remember his response "are you serious?" I was serious. The only glitch was that I had to move in, in five days.
So he got me preapproved and after a little deliberation between him and the owner my offer was accepted. Then I got to come home and tell my parents I just bought a house!! Ya, that went over well.
Once they saw it they were won over as well. That condo cost me $50k and looking back on that experience, I was incredibly lucky to have dealt with honest professionals who chose not to take advantage of me when they easily could have. It is an experience that I think of every time I meet a first time home buyer.
While living and working in Connecticut was a positive experience Boston continued to call my name. You might say that the home sickness got worse as time passed So I rented my place out and moved back to Boston.
Cambridge to be exact, where I continued to manage John Harvard’s Brew House in Harvard Square. During the next four years I purchased two more homes with four apartments and obtained my Massachusetts Real Estate Sales Persons License.
After six years with John Harvard’s and seventeen years as a restaurant manager in July of 2003 I left the restaurant business to sell real estate full time and have been doing that ever since.
People ask me all the time if I miss the restaurant business and the answer is YES! I loved my job and I loved the people, I didn’t even mind the hours or the back breaking work. I will say that after running restaurants and bars in Fanueil Hall and Harvard Square life as a real estate agent is a bit more relaxed. No more St Patrick day’s or Regatta weekends to plan for!
I love helping people through the process. Matching up a buyer and a seller is an incredible experience and I take great pride in knowing that someone is placing one of the biggest investments of their lives in my hands.
I was incredibly lucky to pick a top notch company right out of the gate as well. Prudential Prime Properties has 12 offices in Massachusetts and more in Maine in Rhode Island. Plus we are one of the top fifty producing franchises in the Prudential Real Estate network of 1900+ offices and more than 62,000 agents. I like those numbers.
Working with Prudential has given me such an advantage over the small independent offices. Especially when it comes to technology and marketing advances, Prudential does the research for me. In turn my clients get the best and latest working technology out there.
The real estate business is constantly changing and we need to STAND OUT from the crowd. I do this by continually updating my marketing plans, implementing new technology as it comes along and providing the very best to my clients.
Hopefully this gives you a bit of insight into who I am and why I do what I do.
